Digital addiction

October 6, 2015
There's a new virus in town, its called social media. When I was young Nana and i talked and learnt, read stories of the world in an encyclopedia. 20 years on its all gone too crap, We're guided around town with a digital map. Social interaction used to be vocal communication, but these days its just the top trending stories we share our unification. The only friends some have are a count of numbers on Facebook or a flock of followers on twitter. Soon you'll be able to hire a virtual baby sitter. The small hit of dopamine released when a 'like' is received, a poke, a tag, gently place it in your ego bag. lunch rooms and catch ups used to be fun. now its just blank, silent faces, staring at screens, scrolling with thumbs. Concerts and school plays were great. now its all viewed through a sea of screens, digital eyes sealing human fate. The 'Smart' phone revolution has captured the nation. we're losing conciseness, if I could I'd change the station. Souls sucked dry through a USB port. Minds corrupted, no original thought. The addiction is growing as our brains are slowing. Turn off your phone, take a look around, you're not alone.
