Adolescent Insignificance

In a mind too young to have been altered by our world's social norms, that are rather abnormal,
or poisoned by ancestral prejudice and opinions influenced fully by the media,
lies a single, innocent mindset.

Children say what they mean,
they call it how they see it,
and they do this without even being aware of what they're doing.
Unfortunately,
adults tend to selectively ignore these truths that children speak.
It is a cycle,
there's no other way to put it.
We are ignored as children,
grow to become adults,
then ignore children.
But...why?

Children's eyes see things in a raw state.
As humans,
we are slowly raised up to pretend to not see what it right in front of our faces,
to turn away from ugly truths in life.
Because we all know how to run,
but not how to look at something directly and say,
"I cannot accept this,
now what can I do to change it?"
Until we,
as a society,
learn to listen to adolescents,
and the raw truths they speak,
we will continue to bury our problems.
All because we chose to decide
that children's opinions
are insignificant.
