Job 5:6-7 New English Translation (NET Bible)

For evil does not come up from the dust,
nor does trouble spring up from the ground,
7 but people are born to trouble,
as surely as the sparks fly upward.

Whoops!

Dust to dust and ashes to ashes that is where the flesh will go

Now affliction here is mentioned not to be apart from it

So there is another segment that we seldom think about

Springing up from a realm not seen and that is not all of it

Where does that realm reside ... where does trouble come from?

“Reap what you sow” is so often said ... but who then makes it grow?

I plant, water or procrastinate … I do what comes natural

In good, bad or whatever rules ... painting my life “white” as snow

Snow that I trampled on … or crushed with my car

But white is what I want to see ... so I color it in my mind

A creature of bad habits … that I make appear good

The trouble is that others … see me always in a bind

To look in truth at ourselves ... and how others see us

Knowing that we pretend to be … who we think we are

Amazing first we fool ourselves ... and then we do it to others

Feeling really confident … but God truly sets our “par”

To God I explain it later … you know at the very end

He will understand … what I really try to do

“Workers of iniquity ... now depart from me”

You selfish silly creature … you think you can fool Me too?

So trouble and affliction … came from the Fall so long ago

Directed through depravity ... by the prince of this world’s domain

The only way of deliverance ... is through Christ, the Lord

To Him compromise is not known … so my loss can be my gain
