Baby Bird

Mother bird soaring high

Baby bird stuck on a line

Baby bird just clinging there

A little timid, a little scared

Mother and Father flying around

Baby bird chirps and just looks down

Afraid to take that leap of faith

Baby bird thinks he has no grace

Flapping his wings as hard as he can

But still staying right where he stands

Father and Mother trying to lead

Baby bird thinks of what failure would mean

Chirping after both of his parents go

Never wanting to be all alone

Baby bird just wants to be free and fly

Rising and diving up in the sky

His parents are soaring and calling for him to see

What would happen if he just believed
Baby bird gains his confidence and jumps

Falling at first, but he rises back up

As Baby bird rises higher and higher

The weight of his fear becomes lighter and lighter.

Singing with joy, showing his parents what he’s done

Father, Mother, and Baby bird fly off towards the setting sun.
