Battle Scars

A constant reminder of battles won,

But also those that were lost.

Everyone has them,

Either mental or physical,

Small or large.

There’s always one.

Sometimes the reminders build you up,

Keep you strong,

Keep you from breaking again.

But sometimes they tear you down,

Remind you of the weak moments.

Always there.

No matter what purpose they serve,

In the end they become battle scars.

Proving that you fought.

Fought the demons…

And lived.

You came out on top.

Scars are forever reminders.

Reminders that you won.

Even if you were weak, you won.

Don’t be embarrassed, they are you.

They prove you lived.

They are you and no matter what,

You are beautiful.
