Beauty Within the Beast: Frankenstein's Creature

Though you have eyes, you cannot see me

Yet a blind man could see me as clearly as the day

Appearance is only skin deep; I am not what I seem to be.

Because I differ from the status-quo, I am judged harshly

For my peculiarity the world makes me pay

Though you have eyes, you cannot see me.

Why must I hide in shame while you live proudly?

Are you and I not the same in what we think, feel and say?

Appearance is only skin deep; I am not what I seem to be.

My one desire is for you and I to live in harmony

But like an animal, I am constantly kept at bay

Though you have eyes, you cannot see me.

I beg you, do not mock my physicality

Do not drive me away

Appearance is only skin deep; I am not what I seem to be.

Without your consent, I can never be free

Without your help, I am forevermore thrown into the fray

Though you have eyes, you cannot see me

Appearance is only skin deep; I am not what I seem to be.
