Because

Sun, 11/05/2017 - 15:13 -- ebardei

Love isn’t thunder and lightning,

Electricity coursing through your veins,

Fire burning you from head to toe.

Love is warm and safe,

Sinking into a hot bath,

Wrapping up in a blanket on a cold day,

Waking up in the middle of the night to see you have hours left to sleep.

Love is safety.

Love is knowing that even when you screw up,

There’s still someone on your side,

To guide you back,

To hold your hand,

To support you even before you need it.

Love is knowing you’d do the exact same for them.

Love is being scared.

Love is terror,

Over feelings you’ve never felt before.

Love is letting yourself feel,

Letting yourself be vulnerable,

Letting yourself be scared,

And knowing they are too.

Love is being your own person.

Love is not

“Where are you going?”

“What are you doing?”

“Why aren’t you staying here with me?”

Love is

“Ok, have fun, and call me if you need anything.”

Love is having a partner.

Someone to laugh with,

Someone to cry with,

Someone to smirk at when one of you makes a bad joke.

Love is having someone to help you through the hard stuff,

Love is someone who makes the hard stuff easier,

Simply because they’re there.

Love is nothing like the movies make it out to be.

Simple, effortless, easy.

Choreographed.

Love in real life is so different.

Messy, difficult, confusing.

But real love is worth the effort.

#BecauseILoveYou.
