Betrayed Love

It’s cute when you’re in boots and grow in height,
Being with you just makes me want to smile,
I love you even if you can run one mile,
I would always protect you if we fight.
On dark days, I knew you would be my light,
When you’re gone I feel alone on an isle;
You always make me happy when I’m vile,
When you’re near, I feel buoyant as a kite.
Yet, all I adore of you ends in pain,
And time spent with you is now wasted space,
Playing me as if I was your puppet.
Those bright greenish eyes trap me like a chain,
As your real side opens up like a case.
You leave and I end up as the muppet.
