Breathing is easy until it is hard
Your conscience is pure until it is marred
Life takes its toll, it hurts and it drains
It attacks us with challenges, it buries us with pains
Every day, in every way, it is an endless fight
Seeing is easy until you take away the light
What was right is now wrong, innocence lost
You keep paying and paying without knowing the cost
You inhale, you intake, your lungs beg for air
Gasping, desperate, it isn't even there
But you know it is, it has to be, so why are you dying
It's the weight, the pressure, the pain, the lying
Lying to yourself, lying to the ones that care
Killing pieces of yourself until you aren't even there
Gasping, dying, suffocating under the weight
You hate the world, you hate yourself, but mostly you just hate
Hate what you do, hate what you say
Hate that you hurt them, but you can't see another way
So the oxygen taunts you, mocks you, escapes you
Your lungs cry out, your face turns blue
You don't know what to do
You don't have a clue
You were once innocent but now you've been marred
Breathing isn't easy, it's so damn hard(poems go here)
