Come Gaze with Me into the Night

Come gaze with me into the night,

Into the endless sky,

Stretching out and out to the edge of eternity.

The literal edge of forever.

Come gaze with me into the night,

And feel how big it all is.

Feel the vastness of space above us,

The expanse of the earth below us,

Spinning so fast,

Yet so much larger than us,

That we feel nothing at all,

Except the gentle breeze.

Come gaze with me into the night,

And consider how thin this bubble is,

That keeps that breeze where we can feel it,

Caressing our skin and filling our lungs.

Come gaze with me into the night,

And think about how small we are,

How fragile and ephemeral,

How incredible and improbable,

How every movement of every particle

Has led us to this moment,

Existing as we do now,

As we are now,

Laying here,

Hand in hand,

Gazing into the night.
