Compromise observation

1 Peter 2:1So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.

Compromise do you rule the work

that God wants accomplished?

In everything and everywhere

do you pull the strings.

The “more” man thinks to be free of it

The”more” I get astonished

of your sullen ways and smiles

that your slyness brings.

Deceitful is the human heart

and the mind is no better.

Still we let it rule our ways

and are happy to comply.

To the things that make sense to us

although we would tar and feather

the “Holy Spirit” if we could

as we think we’re getting by.

“Lord of Lords” we call our God.

“Master of All things”

As we follow self

in the blindness of our desire.

Talking of fulfillment and

serving the King

forlorn holding our own hand

as we stumble through the mire
