Conceit

Proverbs 26:12

12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Innocence driven or pulled into place

Labeled with a value ... far below its cost

It is not forgiving ... if scarred in the face

as a scattered menu ... regularly tossed

Practical existence ... ignored by everyone

Once it was priceless ... now a compromise

For fame a hindrance ... blasted by anyone

who lost theirs face-less ... in a bargain otherwise

Only once you had it and suddenly it was gone

Cannot be recovered ... tainted to the core

Dress it up and pad it ... and make it its clone

as pretension hovers ... artificial more and more
