for that cure

Is it because people are smiling

that you think everything is fine

do not be fooled by the image it portrays

nor look at the thin shallow vel it wears

for there is a story  behind a face

a hidden past or something we can't erase

but we keep laughing

laughing even when our hearts are sadden

sadden by war, poverty and hunger facing the world

the no solution for the disease

thta make people deceased

people loved and cherished

gone and lost

because we kept our hands folded

waiting for someone to do our job

for our lack of consideraton or action

people have suffered and were lost

lost for illnesses we know nothing more of than its name

the name of which imakes it more deadly than its pain

that can bring tears and take away hope when called

the colorful picture of the earth we once drew

has been smeared across with dark smoke

as the events of these tragedies unfolds

but do we choose to sit and cry

like a new born chld

or should we start doing or part

to think of ways to stop

the problems we see our sociey facing

acknowleding, encouraging and teaching

that preventiong is better than a cure

but making a call for a cure

a cure for pollution, stopping global warming

a cure for discrimnation, keeping our societal values and pride

a cure for education, chasing drop outs from our streets and back to school

a cure for a disease, bringing love and hope to the ill

the cure that will heal the saddened heart of earth

and strenghten our souls so that we keep smiling

and smiling and smiling for that cure
