From the outside

Just another robot

Going through the motions

Stuck behind this curtain

Afraid to pull it back

I take a look around

At all the other robots

Going through the motions

And I wonder

If they see the curtain too

I’m afraid to pull it back

What’s beyond this Normal?

If not going through the motions

If not going with the flow

What else is out there?

I shouldn’t be afraid of the unknown

I should be afraid of the normal

Afraid to end up like the rest

I shouldn’t want to be normal

I want to be different

I go to pull back the curtain

But how?

At which angle do I pull

To change myself

To be unique?

I can’t figure out

How not to end up like the rest

I stand back and wonder

If maybe

This Normal is inevitable
