Dear Straight People

Dear bigots, and homophobes, and haters

Dear close-minded republicans

Listen up

Listen to the sound of my voice
As I speak

As I scream at the top of my lungs

The colors

That make

Me.

Dear straight people

Thank you

For your over-used, stereotypical arguments

Against a love that is each of our

Own

Inalienable

Rights

Because your god is different

Than mine

Dear straight people

Dear people who reject their children and peers

Dear bastards

Calm down

Don't think so highly of yourselves

That when I hold my girlfriend's hand or kiss her

That you have the right to slash our throats

With words of rejection and malice

Binding our right
Behind your whim

Dear straight people

Don't pick and chose your verses

As they suit your selfish needs

Don't smear my God's name with your mortal hatred

Don't mar the world we share with such tiny

Insignificant

Sins.

Dear straight people

Please

I ask this much of you because I am human too

And all I really need is love

Dear Straight People

Remember, in the end,

It was God

Who promised
A rainbow.
