Death Song

Calm migraine,

the sweet pounding;

joyfully insane,

tranquil death.

Questions thicken the air,

a warzone.

Up above, down below

a warzone.

The field of grass so fair--,

a warzone.

God knows love's woe,

a warzone.

Rise up to die again,

the rood-beam in heart;

our life He did defend,

eternal life impart.

Take heart, O men of courage,

throw away vain thoughts!

True pretense do encourage,

driven to the last shot.

Die to live

Surrender to obtain.

Take to give.

Lose to gain.

This quote by Tecumseh, a native american chief of the Shawnee tribe, truly

inspired me and reminded me of all the men and women who sacrice their lives and the comfort

of a privelged life to fight for our country. I look up to them so much for their courage and

bravery. Their actions should never go unnoticed or forgotten. This is to our heroes- the

ones who live to die.

" When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled

with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more

time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like

a hero going home."

-Tecumseh
