Don't Ignore Me

I need to be heard for it is common courtesy, The basic need to share my thoughts, An explosive volcano inside me. We always brag about our free country, Exclaiming everyone here has freedom of speech. So why do we ignore when people are talked over, pushed aside. To my parents I say this; You always make me practice French, Saying it is important to practice life skills. I guess what I am asking is this; Why is it you won’t let me practice in my own home, The most basic of human needs, To be listened to.
