Don't look at me like that,
All side-ways and hateful.
You don't know me or my life story,
Only what is written on a website or posted in the paper.
Don't look at me like that,
Full of scorn and disgust.
Walk a mile in my shoes and then we'll talk.
I've been to jail and I've been to prison,
But I've paid my dues and I did my time
I even did a little extra if it matters to you!
I'm trying to move on.
I'm trying to make something of my life,
Instead of sitting on my butt feeling sorry for myself.
I have dreams and ambitions,
I've even got mad skills in the kitchen.
You aren't willing to give me a chance,
You aren't willing to let me show you I've changed.
But that's alright, I understand,
But in the same respect
All I ask is that you....
Don't look at me like that!
