The End of All Love

It has always struck me as odd,

the idea that “loving you” and “losing you”

are only one letter apart.

This small difference is proved

in how close these actions can be.

Is there any way around it?

How love and loss go beautifully hand-in-hand.

The road is getting narrower,

with no hidden alleyways,

there is no divergence in sight.

Are we doomed to break up or down?

But either way we choose, we are lead to turmoil.

This relationship (ours) will end.

The ending of an ending,

there will never be a way out.

What’s the reason for trying?

Our hands are tied tight behind our backs at this point.

So we may as well just give up.

Because you can’t turn back now,

and  ahead just leads to danger.

Do we mark the end of an era?

The era from sweet nothings to absolutely nothing.

Not just our love, but all of it.

The romance era has died,

murdered with a stab to the heart.
