Escape

You ran from a broken heart,
I from a picturisque life.
You had a past,
I a bright future I'm told.
You came out of nowhere,
I a city with sins.

I was warned,
you were not.
I brought my hurt and pain,
you brought a heart and gain.
I ran when it got real,
You turned and said,"Don't"

You grabbed my hand through
the screen and said this is real.
I said once you're my escape,
you laughed and said "love you so much"

You always say, "You don't have to be insecure with me."
I relax and start to show you myself.
You make me feel like the girl I was.

My laughs and smiles don't seem so rare.
You hold me through the phone calls.
When I am hurt or scared you are always there.

My neverland or wonderland is always complete with you.
The fairytale that girls like me always try to find.
I always try to let you know how much you mean to me.

My escape is the phone calls and your voice. The warmth when you tell me about your life and family.
The fact that you try to help my family.
The way you strive to be there for me.
