Freedom find me

Counting my years to freedom

Born into the world free as a butterfly fresh out its cocoon

How dare some white man take that shit away from me

Being raised in my homeland of Africa

Surrounded by my beautiful black bold  friends and family

Living in a world with responsibilities but never working for free

Never thought I would be took into captivity

Bondage just doesn't look good on me how dare some white man take that shit away from me like a am an animal in a zoo

being raised as a free man in a free land

surrounded by beautiful colored people being in this cage, under the sun

they dare me to run because they have a gun

they believe that gives them power

that they are stronger than us

when really we are the strongest

we endure so much in a day under this same sun, we are whipped and brutalized

left for dead, at that moment you must stronger than the white man and get up and live to work again for the white man

this world has a plan against us

i pray God hears my prayers at night

that one day this world will be right
