Gathering trophies

Proverbs 26:3

A whip for the horse,
A bridle for the donkey,
And a rod for the fool’s back.

Unexpected

Like weather … minds are changing

Here some sun and there some ice

Like it’s made for rearranging

or for someone throwing dice

Well planned and impulsive

walking slowly up and down

Never getting to progressive

just waiting to start another round

Always moving getting nowhere

Progress measured looking back

Gathering trophies to put somewhere

Where they’re easy to forget

Keep on grabbing for the limelight

Every star must be a leader

And if everything goes right

We won’t be lead by a cheater

Put a suit on a monkey

and glasses on its face

You’ll get pardoned by a donkey

and every liberal in the race
