Gazing at the Stars

Location

The stars; so far yet so near.
Though impossible, I can feel their soft whispers through the night.
Rippling in my ear, each has a story to tell,
A story of the beginning, the now, and the end.

Peering through the thick, foggy sky;
My eyes stare at the black surface with holes.
Holes releasing the light of heaven upon the earth,
Releasing the sounds of angels, trumpeting through time.

Though the stars differ in size,
They seem to all have a similar voice.
Each may tell its own story,
Yet it all blends into one vibration.

The stars; the holes in the sky,
Have seen the many people to once walk the earth.
Generations before me saw this very sight,
The sight of which encases my breath this night.

My lungs seize and my eyes stare,
As the sublimity of the night stabs my mind.
A splatter of light on this infinite canvas,
The stars stand as my thoughts race.

Magnetizing my thoughts and body,
The stars call me to be with them.
They shout my name, so loud and clear,
I wish to flow within the holes so near.

Though my journey into the stars was short
Years passed as I observed their majestic being.
Another night will soon come again,
Where I can stare into the stars; so far yet so near.
