Giants

Location

I think I have the world on my shoulders but my head’s in the clouds

I don’t know if I can find happiness if I ever look down.

There are words in my heart but not in my pen,

And I worry that our ink runs dry as we bleed red.

I don’t know what I will do without my friends,

Who kept me warm until winter’s end

When springtime sunshine brought light to lies

That left us alone with tears in our eyes.

We used to sit on mountaintops and feel like giants,

We’d breathe fire and frost in satisfying silence

But now it feels like we’re worlds apart,

With empty eyes and haggard hearts.
