The Gift of Life

Location

Alone, fearful, ashamed

A burden not yet named.

Who would have thought that she

Would end up being "we"?

Bold, beautiful, bright

A future with such light.

Success postponed to linger

Without a ring upon her finger.

Blind, dangerous, bliss

It started with a kiss.

The boy that claimed to love her

Abandoned her as a mother.

Tiny, delicate, bald

Innocent eyes enthralled.

Unconditionally loved,

And a gift from God above.

Strong, independent, proud

A disguised blessing endowed.

Who knew the choice of life

Could end all of one's  strife?
