The Girl With Red Hair

Location

I asked a girl, who had red hair, what it meant to love,

We talked for hours, endlessly, the characteristics of our beloved.

Compassion and care, with honesty and trust,

The fire of passion turning seclusion to dust.

I asked a girl, who had red hair, what this all was,

"It seems you’re smitten, enamored even, with this feeling of lust."

"But lust," I replied, "Lust is not the ultimate desire,

I yearn for the everlasting; feelings always growing higher.”

I asked a girl, who had red hair, how can I distinguish love in thoughts,

She said, “Love is something you feel, it’s not a concept you’re taught.

One day it may be love, and the next it might be gone,

Love is like chess; you make your way through all the pawns.”

I asked a girl, who had red hair, when my King would appear,

She said, “Wonder, lust, fervor, fondness; then you’re in the clear.”
