Glow minded

Covered by the darkness within me holding me hostage with the burden of grief.

Falling to my knees in faith that I could one day be enough for you, for everything I do.

Catering to kids as if they were my own, although I’ve never labored.

Blind to the thought of being beautiful because I had too much melanin.

Today the ignorance of my peers never cease to amaze me but self hate is taught not born.

With a glow mind my eyes are open.

My past doesn’t determine my future and my family tree will not define me.

Success is measured by perseverance and faith.

The light I give outshines the pressures of this society.

Don’t grow to a standard, be the goal.

You are gold!

With a glow mind I strive for the perfection in i perfection.

I am whole.
