Growing Up

Growing up

When you first came into this world

Your eyes lit up the town

Watching you take your first steps

To wearing your cap and gown

You grab my hand like the little girl I remember

Packing up and saying goodbye

I tear up knowing I can’t have you forever

Sending you out in the blink of an eye

Soon to be walking down that isle

Wearing nothing but white

Your father hands you off to him

Hoping everything will be alright
