///// healths in feardom

my name is

“I have been terrified of

Neptune, and Poseidon,

resting on an off off off-spoken shore of Mediterranean greens

(or howling Atlantisicity)

when the howls of wind start to engrain themselves in

every swell

every sweltering, boiling hit of thunder on a pockmarked surface

foam is an invention of blood,

of tears shed by a swinging and screaming and weeping woman

who towers over me as I sway sway sway

and remember that I sleep as all do,

salt claiming an ex-arm of teeth and bone

ghosts are my lessons of humility

wonder wander through a tidying dissolution

of white wisps, echoes of current reveries

and ultimately in alien fatality”

equivocally

“in slobbering mouths of ogres blue

the cut and touch and tear of umami

without which you and she are blind

though thought is a sixth sea

belonging to unmarked eel graves of a white, though black, lie

to anchor is an understatement

circling barrier - reef? - of fear

that I cannot, or will not, mother and father decide

survive without, gasp greedily without, without entitlement

though only of my century and identity, individual, personal”
