How I see me

Look at a picture and you see me.

Covered in filters, disappearing slightly.

I am the quiet one, the shy one;

the smart one that no one can see.

But lose the filters and you can see me.

I'm fading away and breaking apart.

Slowly realizing that this world is too much.

People screaming in my ear like an alarm,

Not knowing that my heart can hear the words.

Hurting every bone in my body.

I see the scars on my wrists,

Telling me -reminding me- no one cares

But where are my friends when I am digging this ditch?

They are off in another universe,

And I am here alone.

My words do not make a sound.

For no one is around to hear.

I am slowly going down until I crash.

But look at a picture and you see me,

A quiet girl with nothing wrong.
