Hug It Out

Hey, Let’s die together,

It’ll only take one bullet

If we hug each other.

Because no matter

How hard I hold on

 to you with empty hands

 and my heart long forgotten

I just can’t manage to

Set you free.

And you whispered softly

“Let me go.”

But I couldn’t.

And you begged me gently

“Come with me.”

But I shouldn’t.

And you asked me harshly

“Don’t you love me?”

But I don’t.

At least, that’s what I believe

If that will convince anyone

That better days are coming.

So I pleaded,

“Stay.”

You said,

“Go.”

But I refused to leave until you hugged me.
