I am the moon
When the light fades
And the world turns a blind eye,
I become alive.
I show myself to only the darkness,
Ane become
The soul of the night.
The stars puncture the darkness
That I take comfort in,
And glisten with the prospects of
Hope, that I so desperately need;
A light in the enveloping darkness.
The light that keeps me from
Loneliness,
That holds me up in the sky,
Keeping me from succombing to the
Infectious blackness
That is around me.
I am the moon,
And tonight
I shine.
