I Didn't Deserve That

So here we are, trying to pick up the pieces of the mess that you made,

And the damage that you caused is going to need a lot more than a band-aid.

You used all of the facts that I told you against me,

And I knew that this was how it was going to end up to be.

I wasn’t going to tell you, but you were the one who made me say it,

And the way that you came at me left me with a bruise from the hit.

You made me feel crazy when you were the one who was dying to know,

And you asked me why I was telling you this now, but you were the one who wouldn’t let it go.

It took me a long time to realize how full of yourself you truly are,

Because you like to heal them, while also being the one who is causing the scars.

You took me when I was broken, and helped me to become whole,

And I know seeing breaking me was always a part of your goal.

It wasn’t until it ended that I realized how one sided our friendship was,

But this time I am no longer sitting back, because now I’m the one with the claws.

I will not be able the bigger person, and I will not walk away,

Because for years, you were the reason I would cry and fall apart everyday.

But now it is my turn to allow karma to take its course,

And this time, you already know who is going to be the source.

Because I am not going to apologize for telling you how I feel,

And I am not going to apologize for keeping it real.

If anything, you should apologize for the way that you treated me,

And this time, I love the fact that I am the one holding the key.

You are no longer in charge of how my day goes or how I am going to react,

And I will be whole again, even if some of the pieces are slightly cracked.

I know it won’t be perfect, but I am going to try my best,

Because you are not worth it, and you showed me that you are no different than the rest.

I thought you were different, but I guess you are all the same,

And I am done with you, and I will not keep playing your game.

I’ll tell you this, if we play, you are not going to win,

Because you are just a player, but I’m the coach, and things are not going back to the way that

they have been.
