I Miss Being A Little Kid

Sometimes I miss being a kid
Being younger
Being cradled by my mommy when I get a scrape on my knee
Playing outside with my sister and laughing
Going to the park and having fun with my daddy
Being comforted by my mommy when I had a bad day
Going out as a family to yogurt land
I don't get to do that anymore because my sister is older now
And my daddy is never home
And my mommy is always tired
And I'm a teenager who is struggling everyday
Wishing that I could just be a little girl
Wishing that I didn't want to grow up so fast
I miss hiding under the blankets and waiting for my mommy to come look for me
Smiling with my sister while playing with chalk in the backyard
Getting reminders that my mommy and my daddy aren't going to be here forever
This is my first time living
I just miss being a little kid
