I can’t understand bullies

How they can say what you like is wrong

How they can say the way thing you tried to like for them is wrong

How they can say the way you try to fix yourself for them is wrong

But I can understand how much it hurts to give up on something for someone else

 

I can’t understand bullies

How they can laugh at your tears

How they can laugh at your straight face

How they can laugh at your attempts to feel nothing

But I can understand how much it hurts to not feel like you’re allowed to feel anything

 

I can’t understand bullies

How they can lie and say you’re provoking them

How they can lie and say you’re doing bad things to others

How they can lie and say you’ve done things you haven’t

But I can understand how much it hurts to have everyone trust them and not you

 

I can’t understand bullies

How they can feel no remorse

How no amount of detentions or referrals will stop them

How they can’t forgive you for making them find another victim

But I know how much it hurts to forgive them

 

I can understand victims

But I can’t understand how much it will hurt if that bully realizes what he’s done to me

And how he'll never know that I forgave him anyway
