It's just a game

Ecclesiastes 9:11 New English Translation (NET Bible)

Wisdom Cannot Protect against Seemingly Chance Events

11 Again I observed this on the earth:
the race is not always won by the swiftest,
the battle is not always won by the strongest;
prosperity does not always belong to those who are the wisest,
wealth does not always belong to those who are the most discerning,
nor does success always come to those with the most knowledge—
for time and chance may overcome them all.

Games

Idolized sports ... it is sad to see

Forget about the poor ... they are free

or the unborn ... killed before they'll be

all because of priorities ... in you and me

Is it glamour we love so well

or "beat him to a pulp" before the bell?

It's not the game but winning ... can't you tell?

"the end justifies the means" comes straight from hell

Winners come and winners go

and life goes on ... to and fro

How to play the game and direct its flow

makes the difference for friend and foe

For the referee is Jesus, my Lord

and our fans the heavenly host

So play the game right ... for everyone knows

when your card is red ... forever you go

At the end of the game the winner is known

The Lord walks to him  who is behind in points

He smiles and says ..."very well done"

you're a winner to Me!.. here is your crown

And I look up to Him and say: "I did not play too well”

He says: "did you do your best with what you had?"

I wished I tried harder ... now I feel so sad

for I had so much more ... then I thought I had

Life has never been a game ... it is for real

and to win or to lose in this world will seal

or you will share...that heavenly meal

that Christ reserves ... for you and me

So turn from your ways and join God's team

You won't like the training ... for it seems

that trouble will find you  as you follow the stream

that flows from the Love’s throne serene

For the devil envies your relationship with God

and he'll try to make you stumble ... like it or not

as you fall again you plunge into the cleansing flood

that Jesus provides ... in the presence of God

So if you enjoy sports a lot

don't forget what you've got

Be in shape to run in the arms of God

to be cleansed from every  blot
