The Kiss (Green Light)

I remember how it happened

As the room gradually became dark

(And I had turned out the lamp)

I had invited him to my room

We had been holding hands tightly

Him and his adorable scruffy hair

And dress shirt with very cool indie patterns

How suddenly, his head was directly above mine

His eyes gleaming (twinkling) with that hunger one gets in the dark

And before I knew it

His lips were on mine

Raw and primal

Passionate

Like nothing I’d ever experienced before

My hands were all over him

And many months later

After it had ended all too quickly

A lyric spoke to me

Did it frighten you

How we kissed when we danced on the light-up floor?

And while a dorm room is much less glamorous

Less romantic than a light-up floor

I find myself still wishing

I could get my things

And just let go.
