Mask

You think you know me

And maybe you’re right

But no one knows the real me

Who stays up half the night

Crying uselessly and worrying

About things that don’t concern

The average girl around my age

When will they ever learn?

I might smile throughout the day

That’s all they’ll ever see

Doesn’t mean I’m completely ok

Because in the night, just my demons and me

My walls come down

So too, my tears

Emotions run wild and heavy

Words whispered that nobody will ever understand

What more do you want from me?

So now you know who I really am

Please, no tears or pity

I am who I am who I am who I am

And your words will never change me
