Mask

I wear a mask,

Just as the Phantom of the Opera does.

And also as happened to him,

I want that mask ripped away

To expose all the dark, ugly parts of me

Anger

                Fear

                                Hatred

                                                Sadness

Yet still be loved

For the brightness

That shines through those dark places

                                           Intelligence

                               Honesty

                    Hope

Compassion

Maybe with the help

Of that love

The light will erase the dark

And I will be free
