This is me, can you handle the heat?

The sun peeks over purple mountains, white crusting their peaks

In the slanted rays, I take a breath and begin.

On this day I cast off my shackles

I shed the heavy robe billowing about my form.

My eyes, shifting from a deep chocolate brown to the amber of rich honey come from the floor

Let the people see the light that dances therein

Let the world bear witness to the storm of fire and lightning

That rages within the polished oaken depths

My eyes meet in the mirror and wink in flirtatious mischief

The robe cascades to the floor in a fall of dark gray

Melting in the revealed brilliance of the blood red shirt hidden beneath

The red warms my skin, revealing the ruddy brown that lies within

Opened buttons expose a hint of toned, smooth chest

Short sleeves accent deltoids, sculpted and slender

Jeans hug the curves of my legs and accentuate my stance

Hips sway loosely as my legs carry me through the door

Shaking out the reddish brown hair that dances and waves beneath my ears

My laugh comes, with just a hint of the super villain, rejoicing his evil plot

I know that today my voice, with its slightly feminine quality, will easily fill the room

I no longer fear to be seen and to be heard

My words are direct, with no sugar to soften their sound

Today I give my storm its head,

Who can say how the face of the Earth will change, as this storm rages overhead?
