Melody

I want you to hug me to the point where my heart is going to jump out of my chest. To the point where you back away and I stumble forward as if I was punched in the chest and I was gasping for air. Imma be honest I am not a big talker, in fact every time I talk to you I panic, just to show how hard it is to find the right words. And sometimes my tongue gets tied just to prove that the utter sight of you leaves me tripping over my words. But sometimes I am hoping that I would be hit with an idea to approach you and ask you a question to where you would have an answer.

I always thought that my words would be the key that was the missing component in opening your mind to hear what I have to say. Imma be honest, I am not a big talker, but if I was to realize that the time I have with you is rapidly coming to a mind blowing halt, then I swear the first thing I would do is… kiss you. Because I always thought that your lips as well as your eyes were forbidden, like the forbidden fruit, it was tempting but beautiful at the same time, drawing me in, cornering me as if I was the mouse and you were the cat and I just lost the chase.

But you see, I am not really a big talker, but if I was I would shower you with my words hoping it would wash away the bullshit men had been feeding you throughout your life creating your rash judgment and the scars on your heart. But the fact that you’re you and you’re here shows that you mended your scars, shoved the past right out of your head and promised yourself “no one shall ever feed me lies.” But let your heart guide you in every step you take towards me not letting your brain have any say in the matter, as if your heart had taken the wheel and duct taped the mouth of your brain shut.

But you see, I’m not really a big talker, but if I was I would tell you to cover your ears so that your brain won’t hear me, and open your chest so that your heart could get a better view so when I say I like you, it would know I meant it.
But in the end, words are just words after all.
