Misconception

America the great!

Army strong!

But we never seem to know

when we're about to go wrong.

The way that we run

this place we call home,

alludes many people

because we're so deep in our phones.

We're reading about problems,

so far from our towns.

There are struggles right beneath us,

making us all look like clowns.

Diversity rules!

America's the best!

At least that's what we say

when we're puffing our chest.

Black lives matter!

We know that they do,

so let's not focus

on just me and you.

Let's focus on everyone,

black white and all,

because nothing will be fixed

by building a wall.
