The Monsters In My Dreams

Location

I miss the way Tuesday afternoons used to feel.

Miles and miles away, I'll send my love, my love by train.

There's nothing more breathtaking than the smile in your eyes.

And although it hurts, it breaks my heart, I'd do it all over.

From the start, for you.

I've traded in this heart on a million different scams.

Again, I find you all alone in our together.

There's nothing more heartbreaking than the words that you won't use.

Again, I find myself doing it all over, for you.

It's not fair. I'm fighting a losing battle against my shadow, against my shadow.

In pieces, I'll wait for you. In pieces, I'll wait for you, again.

Awake, I sleep at night waiting out your living nightmare.

Because in my dreams, your monsters take in deeper breaths.

There's nothing more unnerving than the fire in your eyes.

How could you ask for more than I can give?

How could you?

It's not fair. I'm fighting a losing battle against my shadow, against my shadow.

I need more than this empty mask to live.

No one will bother with the details of our misery, the pieces of our mystery.

In pieces, I wait for you. In pieces, I wait for you again.

It has to be some force of gravity somehow drawing me to you.

Because no matter how I turn and run, I end up in your arms again.

And there's no safe place for something so broken.

In pieces, I dream of a waiting you. In pieces, I dream that you are waiting.

It's not fair. I'm fighting a losing battle against my shadow, against my shadow.

I need more than this empty mask to live.

No one will bother with the details of our misery, the pieces of our mystery.

In pieces, I wait alone. In pieces, I dream of a you that waited.
