Monstrous

I am monstrous

I'm so monstrous

you can blame me

my skin's not like melted gold

or parchment

it's read and scaly

I am a wreched thing

such a fearful thing

you should run from me

I do not know you

I do not want you

to ever set me free

I am original sin

I'm original sin

people fear me instinctually

I'm not the tree

I'm not the snake

and I'm not eve

I am the apple

and I've had to grapple

for centuries with my mistakes

Don't ever come near me

Don't try to fix me

Leave me to rot

If you do leave me,

you can breath easy

But if you do not

I will destroy you

I will consume you

don't give me that shot

'Cause I am an arsonist

just an arsonist

I set fires intentionally

I'de like to watch

the world burn

there's no fixing me
