The Music in Me

Being understood, isn't always me

I cannot always say what's deep inside, you see.

But when I close my eyes, I hear the rhythms speak;

They call me on my lies and whisper soothing things.

Upon a closer look, my heart beats in time;

My body is in sync with what's playing through my mind.

I hear their voices singing, sweet melodies o' mine;

They understand my feelings--they see what's left behind.

Without them I wouldn't be here--yes, it's suicide.

But now I know I'm not alone, in this world we despise,

From the vocals to the bass, it's never left my side,

I have the music in me--it's what saved my life.
