My Mirror

Fri, 10/27/2017 - 23:18 -- klheit

My mirror only sees how much I love you
How bad you hurt me
How bad you burn me
My mirror only sees the bruises you leave me

My friends think you're the best
But they don't know the real you
The you that terrorizes me
The you who takes me as property

I don't know exactly when you changed
Or when I allowed myself to be this way
I wonder if any of it was really true
Or if I ever really loved you

My mirror only sees the bruises you leave me
When I wipe my face at the end of each day
I see a stranger who's black and blue
My mirror only sees how much I love you
