Nightfall of the Curious Mind

Sun, 11/17/2013 - 20:59 -- JPB

Hearing the voices, young and old,
Speaking, asking questions.
What is this, what is that?
So many answers to give,
No time nor words to disclose.
In creeps the night, the cold,
Moonless night, baring down.
The stars stolen from the sky,
A dark storm cloud the culprit.
Terrible is the maelstrom that stalks,
Calculating a predatory assault.
There is no war here, only massacre
Worse than that of our forefathers.
Glorious is the day of bloodless bloodshed
Renewing the souls of times long lost.
Forever fighting a losing battle
Wasting the lives of those whom do not exist.
Time, gone from here, this house is no
Home to the grave mistakes past.
So many questions, lost in time,
Unanswered voices still clawing away.
Searching the mind for answers long
Lost to the storm that stole their light.

This was my favorite line in the poem because I could clearly see this in my minds eyes. You are very talented and I look forward to seeing the other poems you have. Keep it up.
