Nightmare
An iron hue hung in the air
I flung out my arms in desperate dispair
My heart quivers with unreleased tension
Breaking
For it knows not
The metallic scent burns sharper
I am overhelmed
By both sensation and fear
Hear them now! The floor boards creaking
Louder, faster; Louder, faster
I am cemented into place
Immobile, statuesque
Hot, heavy breath sears my skin
Sweat ridden, eyes darting, wild
Pale wizened fingers grasp for me
I awaken
