Nobody Knows Me

No friends
Only enemies
Like a pride of starving lions
They wait
For me to walk through those doors
They attack
Viciously with their words
I am cut deep
Not in the flesh, but in the soul
Nobody knows me
Nobody sees me for who I am
Nobody cares

No escape
Only a constant torturous school day
Like I’m drowning in my own sorrow
They glare
Eyes piercing right through me
They laugh
A horrific and bone-chilling sound
I am sinking further
Nowhere to go but down
Nobody knows me
Nobody sees me for who I am
Nobody cares

No help
Only myself against the rest
Like a smoldering wildfire
They consume me
Burning words licking at my body
They scorch me
Rumors singeing my pride
I am unable to breath
No free air left
Nobody knows me
Nobody sees me for who I am
Nobody cares

No direction
Only a maze of distasteful chaos
Like I am in a room with no door
They blind me
A peaceful life is out of sight
They mislead me
The way to a happy me is not found
I am lost
No idea where I’m going
Nobody knows me
Nobody sees me for who I am
Nobody cares

No more
Only confidence and strength
Like I am finally awake from a terrible dream
They are wrong
I am intelligent, determined, and driven
They will one day see
I am something more, something important, something worthy
I am capable of being anything I choose
No limits on what I can do and who I can be
Nobody knows me
Nobody sees me for who I am
Nobody cares
But one day, oh one day,
THEY WILL
