One Too Many
Today, of all days, why today?
How could such a thing happen?
I’d be lying if I said I had nothing to say
No one was laughin’ or clappin’
I never thought I’d see this
Never so close, to such a degree
It was just so amiss
Unbelievably gross to see
Everyone decided to flee,
And yes that includes me
I know, I know, hypocrisy
But who was willing to help in this time of need
It’s just my curiosity
I know how much this made the country bleed
I mean honestly, could we show more unity?
This is still bothering me, it’s just crazy
It’s caused so much uncertainty
So many people were hurt and marked forever
So many lost under the dirt and never.....found
How sad, how much hate was needed to do it
All the work that it took to brew it
The pilots that accomplished this tragedy
Had to be in a state of insanity, committing this blasphemy
At least, that’s what it was to me
This can’t be what He wanted, it can’t be
It was alarmingly the worst catastrophe I’ve ever witnessed
Nothing to be diminished
Once the act was finished,
It was distinguished as the deadliest strike in the U.S.
That spot can never be replenished
Those killed, just vanished
Those pilots, banished
Not by us but perhaps by Him, if He existed
He’d know that His laws were twisted
Or perhaps their minds were misted
I’ll never know, we’ll never know
But many don’t need to
Because it was something they did indeed do
And it only takes one deed to be hated
One event and all hell is created,
Everyone devastated, and so many now irritated
But to be educated is to know that bricks are put on one by one
But it only takes one to knock down the sum
And that is what we cannot overcome
